Outdoor Hose Report - Chocolatey Hosed Down
Did some lunch hour shopping and picked up a pair of very breathable capris, Uniqlo Airism blue camoflauge patterned loungewear, which will help a lot in the stuffy weather lately, and also as a replacement for garments in my wardrobe. I had previously tried this on but didn’t quite like the length. But after consideration of today’s attire match without having a need to reveal too much hosed legs, this length will do.
After work, changed ( at a Gents away from the “hostile area”) into my black printed tee and slipped on this pair of capris. I had a pair of heavy built Power hiking shoes on so it’s going to deemphasize attention to my hosed legs. Ankle socked today since the shoes do rise up to my ankles a little (and also in view of protecting hosiery from any possible rough edges in footwear).
Took my walk; to the nearby mall via an alternative route. This time, I had no sunnies on and walked normally without bothering who’s going to look. As I was at the traffic junction getting ready to cross the route, I stood nearer to the motorists who are stopped by the red light, just doing my stuff (randomly checking smartphone and looking around) till it was time to cross the road. Passed several commuters of both genders, through the eatery-lined mall, and then in the open to the underground metro. Kept my gaze in the direction of where I was headed to or just looking natural like anyone else, and soon, I was already down in the metro platform waiting for the transit line. I took my usual position where commuters seated could see my hosed legs at eye level and boarded the metro when it arrived.
Male commuters were standing opposite or beside me in the intersection space I was in, but I doubt anyone was looking. As I reached the transit station, which was a short walk to the connecting line, I overtook many and came across many oncoming commuters who were all engaged in their own activities. Since the entrance was crowded at my usual spot, I had to enter another door which was less crowded. As the train went on its journey and more commuters could be seen alighting, the sight of my chocolate hosed legs become more prominent via the empty space which widened before a bigger group of commuters boarded. Through my observation, no one really bothered, so be it.
Soon I reached my station and transited to the light rail which will bring me to my home direct. Hit the grocer’s, walking through the brightly lit store, got my stuff and paid at the self-checkout stations. As the machine had some issues after I made payment, a female staff came forward to assist and everything went on as normal. Took my purchases and walked back home, crossing the road, passing oncoming parents with their schooling kids, overtaking some female pedestrians and soon, home James.
Hosed Mission Successful.

Outdoor Hose Report - Possible Notice
Another busy day done with night classes, hence headed for dinner after the quick changeup, into Elegance Creations Support Tights, BE4 shade with pale red line berms, doublerolled up, complete with Flips Bare Classic Grey boat shoes.
Went to the world of books for my usual revision. As the tables were usually occupied, I took the reading singular couch as it was of a more suitable position for reading/writing. Althought the neutral white light illuminated my hosed legs well, everyone was engaged with their own reading, hence even though there were people walking past, none took notice.
Today's lesson required some description of our seatmates' attire, hence I got a little concerned as I have been hosing up for quite sometime since I started classes. Anyhow, that section went by smoothly without my seatmate having to describe that garment I wore, or at least, it was unnoticeable.
Phew, what a closed, hosed shave; at the back of my mind I thought, no one probably will take notice. As I was seated at the back row, exiting the class required me to walk through the narrow centre aisle, but even my female teacher and classmates didn't give any unusual glances when I moved out, hence I presumed it was all good.
Took the usual walk to the subway station passing crowds of late hour commuters and tourists, through the ride and then the slow walk home. Everyone was as usual, engaged in conversations or their smart devices so there werent anything unusual.
Up the unoccupied elevator after the pavement walk, home James.
Hosed Mission Successful.
Attire-Hose Color (Offskintone Hosiery)
Skintone shades are generally easier to go about with anything. Like the usual saying goes: ‘find a shade closest to your natural skintone’ works well for most of us, but for those who wish to optimize the full spectrum of what hosiery makers do, this will probably not apply.
In this part, we go to the “hose route less ventured” by most of us male hose wearers who are already comfortable and confident wearing skintone shade hosiery out with your berms or shorts. Not forgetting those who cycle/jog with hosiery!
The offskin shades generally makes the legs stand out, so there are a few factors which we may want to consider when hosing out in these:
How brave are you?
What is the color look you want to portray (fashionastias come in!)?
I’ve learnt from a few experience male wearers that have done offskin shades confidently out, for example, Andreas, whose patterned offskin hosiery attire are simply awesome, especially for the conservative Asian society. Check out his blog http://legwearfashionformen.blogspot.com
The idea I have here is to bring attention away from the legs rather than drawing to them, so white attire with black hosiery are definitely a no-no. I’ll split into a couple of scenarios here for easier illustration:
Light Look
Propeds Sheer Support, Nutmeg, Smoky Pearl shade
For these pale shades hosiery, I’d match with the following attire:
Top: Black Tee / Printed Black Crew Neck long sleeves with grey trims
Bottom: Slimcut grey berms (default or rolled up depending on how much hosed legs you want to show)
Footwear: Flips Bare Pin Stripe Denim boat shoes / CottonOn Emblem Grey Canvas loafers
Medium Look
Propeds Sheer Support, Chocolate
This shade is tricky hence I have only matched with the following so far during a trail:
Top: Blue, Silver variant horizontal striped tee on black
Bottom: Black with grey checked lines knee length cargos, default length. Rolling up isn’t advisable in view of the hosiery shade
Footwear: CottonOn Emblem Grey Canvas loafers
Dark Look
The darker shades in this spectrum consists of the following in my inventory:
Propeds Sheer Support, Sparrow, Shadow, Black
Womanderie Anti Embolism Pantyhose, Black
My best and probably the most daring was in the following attire with Propeds Sheer Supports in Black:
Top: Blue, Silver variant horizontal striped tee on black
Bottom: Su.Soku Seamless Ankle Length leggings, black
Footwear: Power PlayOn slip on runners with neon linings
The last attire had a good way to bring attention away from the leg with the heavier and bulker looking shoes.
Attire-Hose Color (Skintone Hoisery)
Today I’ll be a little more focused by talking about what I usually do when hosing out in public, attirewise. As I’m not a fashionastia, my focus is usually on combination of colors on attire and foot wear to match the hosiery shade I wear out. We’ll be sticking to the skintone spectrum this time round.
For example, if I’ve decided to look brighter on pale colors, the hosiery shade I’ll select will be in the Beige or identical range, which consists of the following hosiery:
Propeds Sheer Support / Elegant All Sheers, Beige Shade
Astigu Strength Support Pantyhose, Color 152
For these pale shades hosiery, I’d match with the following attire:
Top: White muscle tee with grey trims
Bottom: Pale blue linen berms (doublerolled up)
Footwear: Wakai/Flips Bare Pin Stripe Denim boat shoes
Darker shade hosiery consists of the following in my inventory:
Propeds Sheer Support, Tan, Suntan
Propeds Elegant All Sheers, Suntan
Funfit Support Pantyhose, Suntan
Su.Soku Sheer Support Pantyhose, Color 803
For these pale shades hosiery, I’d match with the following attire:
Top: Red tee
Bottom: Khaki berms with fine black dots (doublerolled up)
Footwear: Wakai/Flips Bare Pin Stripe Denim boat shoes
The idea was to have the hosiery shade complimented with the overall attire. More will be discussed in the next post so stay tuned!
Full Attire Shootout 1: Offskinshades & Berms
Found a good space in my cosy home for this shoot. As I’ve never done this, I decided to go for just a few simple poses and put them together in a collage. Hosiery shadeswise:I’m doing offskin shades today since it’s something which I have ventured into more after being confident with skintone shades.
